A temporary curb on pension tax relief for those earning more than £150,000 is under attack for discriminating against the self-employed, in the latest row over the Budget’s squeeze on high earners’ pensions.
Thousands of self-employed people, ranging from top lawyers to successful authors, are likely to be affected by a rule introduced in last week’s Budget designed to stop people making big extra contributions to their pensions over the next two years.
