Shipping line confers over bail-out

CMA CGM looks set to become the next big operator to seek state help after senior managers of the world’s third-largest container shipping line held talks with France’s finance ministry.

The talks follow months of speculation that the privately-held line would be forced to seek help after falling demand and a collapse in earnings per container shipped pushed the company into loss.
