Housing data weigh on Wall St

Wall Street stocks were weaker on Tuesday as another fall in house prices and a sharp decline in consumer confidence depressed sentiment about the US economic outlook.

The start of a two-day policy meeting of the federal open market committee remained foremost in traders’ minds.
