Earlier this month, the management at Sama airlines was in celebratory mood.
Just over a year after completing its maiden flight, the Saudi budget airline had passed the 1m passenger bookings milestone and passengers had increased 100 per cent over the past four months. Yet the successes cannot mask the trials and tribulations the fledgling carrier has faced as it has sought to make its mark in a market where the rules are far from even.
