Banks and China gain while taxpayer suffers

Recession, as one economist pointed out, is a negative sum game – ultimately almost everyone loses out. That was reflected in the much higher number of losers than winners highlighted by analysts.

Bankers and the Chinese have come out as the clearest winners. On the other hand, taxpayers, the ordinary man on the street, and free market economics have lost out.
