Argentine carmakers in $900m stimulus

Argentina has announced a 3.1bn pesos ($900m) plan to boost sales in the beleaguered car industry, the country’s most important manufacturing sector.

The announcement on Thursday was a key part of a 13.2bn pesos stimulus package for Argentina’s industrial and agricultural sectors, designed to kick-start slackening domestic demand and protect jobs by providing subsidies and cheap longer term credits.
