Quebec reflects on its anniversary

It is unlikely that French explorer Samuel de Champlain knew he would today play a role in an angst-ridden debate over nationhood when he founded Quebec City exactly 400 years ago.

Quebec City, North America's oldest non-Aboriginal settlement and the continent's last remaining fortified city, is steeped in history that is being celebrated in a year-long party.
