IHG boosts its room count

InterContinental Hotels Group signed up nearly 55,000 rooms to its portfolio in the first half of the year, keeping it on course to achieve its growth target.

The world’s biggest hotel group by number of rooms – which will be overtaken by Blackstone when the private equity group completes its purchase of Hilton by the end of the year – took its room count up to 563,676.
