Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama launched into a new campaign finance arms race on Wednesday following a hotly contested New Hampshire primary that left the battle for the Democratic presidential nomination essentially deadlocked.

Mrs Clinton's campaign said $1.1m had come in online since the New York senator's narrow two-point win in New Hampshire, while Mr Obama's campaign said $500,000 (€341,000, £255,000) had come since the primary.
