Taiwan media chief faces 28 years in jail

Taiwan prosecutors on Monday demanded a 28-year jail sentence for Gary Wang, a local media executive, on charges of fraud, breach of trust and forgery, ­highlighting the island’s determination to improve corporate ­governance.

The move comes as part of a widening crackdown on insider trading and other financial irregularities during the past six months.
