Sinn Féin MEPs may lose funding

The European parliament's legal services department is expected to consider next week a request to strip members of Sinn Féin, the political arm of the Irish Republican Army, of their financial allowances.

The review follows complaints tabled by British MEPs with the college of quaestors, which acts as the shop steward of the Strasbourg assembly.
