Siemens set to lower profit forecast

Siemens is set to lower its profit forecast on Wednesday as a deeper-than-expected recession spoils the engineering group’s ambitious profit growth plans.

Peter Löscher, Siemens’ chief executive, is expected to ditch the projection that the operating profit in the three sectors will reach €8bn-€8.5bn ($10.6bn-$11.3bn) in the current fiscal year, which ends in September.
