Workers will be able to use a new trade union database to compare movements in their own salaries and pension arrangements with those of the highest-paid directors at their companies.

The database to be found on the Trades Union Congress's Worksmart website provides detailed information on staff pay, pensions, profit records, identities of main shareholders, union representation as well directors' employment arrangements covering 7,000 UK companies.
