Dollar recovers after sharp sell-off

The dollar recovered on Monday after a sharp sell-off at the end of last week following disappointing US economic data.

The dollar dropped on Friday after figures showed that in December the US economy created its lowest number of jobs in more than four years. This heightened expectations that the Federal Reserve would cut US interest rates by an aggressive 50 basis points at its policy meeting on January 30.
