Parties clash in corporate credentials battle

The Conservatives on Thursday launched an enterprise council to advise on business policy, but one of its leading members refused to endorse the party.

Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou, the highest-profile entrepreneur recruited to the council, said: “I agreed to be included in the group of entrepreneurs because I was assured it will be non-partisan.”
