Risk grows of Horn of Africa conflict

Ethiopia has threatened to terminate the pact that ended its border war with Eritrea in 2000, a move that could bring the two countries closer to a new conflict in the Horn of Africa.

In a letter sent on Tuesday, Seyoum Mesfin, Ethiopia's foreign minister, told Eritrea it had breached the agreements that ended the war and that one of Ethiopia's options was to respond by terminating all or part of those agreements.
