Ex-cricketer’s Camec agrees Kazakh offer

Eurasian Natural Resources Corp jumped from Kazakhstan to the Democratic Republic of Congo on Friday, as it confirmed an agreed £584m ($945m) cash offer for Camec, the mining company founded by Phil Edmonds, the former England cricketer.

ENRC, in making its 20p a share offer, shrugged off the risks of operating in the DRC, a country that holds rich – and largely undeveloped – deposits of copper, cobalt, gold and diamonds.
