Taiwan to talk with China on travel and trade

Taiwan has offered to start negotiations with China on cargo flights, travel links and agricultural trade across the Strait. The move ends a freeze on efforts to revive dialogue imposed after Beijing enacted an anti-secession law in March.

Frank Hsieh, premier,has mandated two non-governmental industry bodies to arrange talks with mainland counterparts on cargo charter flight services, trips by Chinese tourists to Taiwan, and Taiwanese agricultural exports to China, the cabinet said yesterday.
