Stanford executive co-operates with SEC

The investigation by the US Securities and Exchange Commission into an alleged $8bn fraud at the Stanford group of companies is gathering pace as a top executive moved to co-operate with the regulator.

James Davis, the chief financial officer of the group, has spent the last two days in meetings with the SEC, the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Department of Justice, Mr Davis’s attorney told the Financial Times.
