Honda to buy into troubled Pioneer

Honda is to buy Y2.5bn of new shares in troubled consumer electronics maker Pioneer, the two companies announced yesterday, writes Robin Harding in Tokyo.

The Japanese carmaker said that it would take a 6.54 per cent stake because Pioneer is an important supplier of car electronics, including satellite navigation systems.
