Europe venture capital shows big rise

Europe’s venture capital market recovered sharply last year, as the money raised by funds investing in start-ups and early-stage companies rose 60 per cent to the highest level since the peak of the internet bubble in 2000.

The findings, published in a report by the European Venture Capital Association on Tuesday, suggest investors are regaining their appetite for the riskier end of the private equity market.
