Olympic Airlines sale nets five offers

Five shortlisted bidders all put in firm offers for 100 per cent of Olympic Airlines, the lossmaking Greek state carrier being investigated by the European Commission over illegal state subsidies, transport ministry officials said yesterday.

Greece's Aegean Airlines and Germany's DBA are the only airlines bidding. The three others, Olympic Investors of the US, Sures Estate of the Netherlands and the UK-based Klesch group, are financial investors.
