Niceness prevails at London protests

As climate change protesters pitched tents on Blackheath in south-east London on Wednesday, the choice of location seemed appropriate.

The neighbourhood is green, pleasant and comfortably middle-class: a description that applies equally to many of the campaigners who gathered at sites across the capital before “swooping” – politely – to set up camp.
