Wolfson Microelectronics slashed its fourth-quarter revenue forecasts for the second time this month on Monday, bringing expectations for the three months’ revenue down to almost half their level a month ago.
The Scottish maker of specialist audio electronic chips gave the warning as it published third-quarter results showing pre-tax profits in the quarter – crucial because it includes pre-Christmas sales – down to $8.3m, from $14.7m in last year’s third quarter. Revenue for the quarter fell to $60.5m from $70.4m last year.
