Tough apprenticeship for women in business

Only one woman is left competing in The Apprentice after Sir Alan Sugar last night gave the boot to Miriam Staley, the level-headed former hotel manager.

Her dismissal follows Sir Alan's controversial remarks that some of the female contestants on the programme were "brain dead".
