WHO in turmoil after leader dies

The World Health Organisation was thrown into turmoil on Monday by the sudden death of Lee Jong-wook, its director-general.

Dr Lee, 61, a Korean national, collapsed at an official function on Saturday and died in hospital on Monday morning after surgery to remove a blood clot from his brain. He died on the opening day of the WHO’s annual assembly in Geneva.
