Redevelopment: The future on the waterfront

The thriving Scottish capital of Edinburgh might appear to be an unlikely location for one of Europe’s most extensive and ambitious regeneration schemes.

However, the tightness of the Edinburgh’s labour market and the need for more houses in a city with an extremely expensive property market are key factors driving the plan to redevelop the city’s shoreline, left scarred and derelict as traditional industries closed or moved away.
