Wall Street clung on to its gains from the previous session’s rally in spite of a downbeat statement from Home Depot on Tuesday.

After spending most of the day in the red, the S&P 500 pushed higher in the last hour of trading and closed up 0.1 per cent at a new 13-month high of 1,110.32. The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 0.3 per cent to 10,437.42 and the Nasdaq also edged 0.3 per cent higher to 2,203.78.
