Film group defies credit crunch

A French film producer has defied frozen credit markets by securing close to $200m to start a company that will produce movies for the international marketplace.

Philippe Rousselet, the producer of Nicolas Cage's Lord of War , has formed Vendome Pictures with the aim of making 12 films with budgets ranging from $10m to $40m during the next five years.
