TV chief quits scandal over phone-in quiz

The managing director of GMTV resigned on Wednesday despite there being no suggestion that he or anyone at his company knew they were duping phone-in contestants of up to £35m.

Paul Corley said he hoped that his departure from the breakfast television company would help to restore viewers’ trust.
