Rouble weakens as Russia changes tack

Russia’s central bank let the rouble weaken on Tuesday as officials indicated that it was abandoning its rigid defence of its currency.

The rouble fell as low as Rbs30.79 against its euro/dollar basket, breaking through the Rbs30.41 level the central bank has defended in recent months.
