First charges filed in muni bond probe

The first charges were filed on Thursday in an antitrust investigation into the municipal bond industry by the US Department of Justice that has been ongoing for at least three years.

A Beverly Hills-based financial products and services company, known as CDR Financial Products, two of its executives and one former executive were indicted by a grand jury for conspiring to fix prices on contracts for investing municipal bond proceeds and other related municipal finance contracts, said the department.
