Game Group on Wednesday announced a sharp fall in pre-tax profit for the first half of the year after struggling to match the previous year’s record performance, which was driven by hits such as Wii Fit and Grand Theft Auto IV.
The company saw sales and profits tumble in the six months until July 31, with pre-tax profits falling by more than 67 per cent to £10.8m, although that was a more moderate 59.4 per cent after one-off costs had been removed.
