UPM-Kymmene on Tuesday added to a wave of job cuts and mill closures among European forest product companies as the industry battles chronic over-capacity.

The Finnish group, one of Europe’s largest pulp and paper makers, said it would cut 870 jobs, close four mills and cut production at others in the first half of 2010.
