Thaksin mulls bid for Manchester City

Thaksin Shinawatra, the former prime minister of Thailand, on Monday confirmed his interest in Manchester City football club, one of the UK Premier League’s struggling teams and the latest in a number of British clubs to attract interest from overseas investors.

A statement to the London Stock Exchange said he had made an indicative proposal to the board of Manchester City that may or may not lead to an offer being made for the company.
