Jury still out on Lloyds-HBOS deal

Exactly one year ago this week the UK banking landscape changed forever when Lloyds took over HBOS, the country’s biggest mortgage lender.

Lloyds and HBOS had talked about doing a deal on and off ever since 2000 – but the banks had always concluded that competition issues would kill off any potential transaction.
