Sir, Your editorial "Faintly absurd: Excessive sensitivity could cripple the English language" (October 7), reminded me of a splendid parliamentary exchange I heard in Canberra years ago, in which one lawmaker described an alleged impropriety of a fellow member as having "the stench of a kangaroo's jockstrap".
