Small caps begin to turn their backs on Aim

Since its launch in 1995, Aim has developed into the most successful small cap market in the world – but, in the past 15 months, it has seen a dramatic change of fortune.

Companies were flocking to the London junior market for businesses with low market capitalisations until January last year when the total number quoted peaked at 1,700. But this week that dipped below 1,500, the lowest level for three years.
