Anti-euro rhetoric takes hold in Italy, poll signals

One in five Italian private sector employees think the best solution to Italy’s economic problems is for the country to abandon the euro, according to an opinion poll on Thursday.

The survey suggests anti-euro rhetoric of Silvio Berlusconi, prime minister, and some government colleagues has begun to affect public opinion in Italy, traditionally one of Europe’s most pro-integrationist nations.
