Clinton pledges not to meddle in N Ireland

Hillary Clinton, US secretary of state, on Monday pledged the US government would not “meddle” in the politics of Northern Ireland as she sought to encourage local parties to take control of policing and the courts system.

Addressing the province’s power sharing assembly she said: “We know what it means to be supportive. And we also know what it means to meddle.”
