Microsoft tussles with Brussels

Microsoft is battling to persuade the European Commission that last year's landmark antitrust ruling would force the group to disclose valuable information protected by patents.

The US software group, which was last year fined €497m ($642m) for breaking European Union antitrust rules, claims that 34 of its patents would be affected. It therefore believes it has the right to demand royalties from the companies benefiting from the forced disclosure.
