Silverjet collapse leaves passengers stranded

The travel plans of thousands of passengers were thrown into disarray on Friday when Silverjet became the latest airline to fall victim to soaring oil prices and went into administration.

The business class-only service, which started flying from London’s Luton airport to New York and Dubai last year, grounded its fleet after failing to get emergency funding from Middle East investors.
