ARC targets bank debt in Ireland

The former chief executive of Bank of Scotland’s Irish arm has launched a company to buy distressed debt from foreign banks not covered by the Dublin’s government bank rescue plan.

Mark Duffy, who stepped down as Bank of Scotland (Ireland) chief executive in March, has teamed up with Kevin Warren, manager of one of the country’s largest property funds, to create Asset Resolution Corporation to buy distressed Irish property loans.
