CBI warns unions may exploit conflict

Business leaders have warned ministers to beware of an attempt by trade unions, emboldened by a Labour party weakened by divisions, to persuade them to introduce stronger workers' rights.

The CBI employers' body urged ministers attending this week's Trades Union Congress annual conference in Brighton "to resist calls for new employment laws that would harm UK competitiveness and turn the clock back on improved workplace relations".
