Britvic loses fizz in Irish slump

Britvic warned that the Irish economy, which is on the verge of recession, is taking a heavy toll on soft-drink sales and said its full-year Irish profits would miss expectations.

The owner of Robinsons squash and the J2O brand, which cautioned in July it was worried about the Irish economy, released an unexpected trading update ahead of a meeting with investors in Dublin last night.
