Labour's lead in the opinion polls has been cut to just two percentage points in the past month, according to a survey by Mori for the Financial Times, pointing to a revival in Conservative fortunes ahead of a likely general election in May.
The survey, carried out at the weekend, follows intense pre-election campaigning by the main political parties. Labour has stressed Tony Blair's leadership record, while the Tories have campaigned on asylum and immigration, tax cuts and pensions.
