Eurozone confidence edges up again

Eurozone economic confidence recovered more than expected in June, despite idle capacity in the industrial sector hitting a record high, a European Commission survey indicates.

In a fresh sign that economic contraction has slowed significantly, the Commission said its eurozone "economic sentiment indicator" rose by 3.1 points to 73.3 this month, the highest since November. Optimism rose among consumers in the service sector and to a lesser extent in industry.
