Lib Dems demand openness on stress tests

The Financial Services Authority must declare the terms of “stress tests” for UK banks in order to avoid “undermining confidence in the sector”, the Liberal Democrats have warned.

Vince Cable, Lib Dem deputy leader, is urging Lord Turner, FSA chairman, to address the “lack of transparency” and release as much of the detail as possible on how the capital of banks is being tested.
