Ford to sell first hydrogen minibuses

The hydrogen-powered future of the car industry came a step closer on Sunday when Ford Motor announced the first commercial sale of a hydrogen vehicle and General Motors unveiled a breakthrough in fuel cells using the gas.

Ford said it had sold a fleet of minibuses powered by modified internal combustion engines that burn hydrogen to the state of Florida, and deliveries would take place next year. It said it was also in discussion with Dallas airport about a possible second sale.
