Cash-strapped consumers rediscover DIY

Nervous homeowners are putting down the holiday brochures and picking up paintbrushes, according to the UK’s home improvement stores.

After several years of turning to tradesmen for simple work around the home in a shift from “do-it-yourself” to “do-it-for-me”, there are signs that some shoppers are starting to rediscover the forgotten art of DIY.
